Christopher Asmussen is currently a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at BAE Systems, Inc., specializing in the design of non-conventional electro-optical systems in the Mission Systems EO/IR area. They previously held positions as a Mechanical Design Engineer and Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Ball Aerospace, contributing significantly to the development and integration of complex electro-optical systems. Christopher began their career in the motion system industry in 2015, after graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2014. In addition to their engineering responsibilities, they actively mentor university capstone projects and manage prototype manufacturing equipment. Outside of work, Christopher enjoys a variety of hobbies, including mountain biking, rock climbing, and DIY electronics.
