Ian Armstrong is a Senior Principal Scientist at BAE Systems, Inc., since July 2015, specializing in microelectronics packaging and additively manufactured electronics. With a strong background in advanced electronics, Ian has held positions including Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist within the Advanced Electronics research group at BAE Systems FAST Labs, where responsibilities included leading a mixed-signal submodule interposer project. Prior to this, Ian served as an RF Product Engineer in Electronic Combat Solutions, focusing on the production and testing of RF modules. Ian began an academic career as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona, where research centered on RF metamaterials. Ian holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in the same field from the University of Arizona.
