John Burleson

John Burleson has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of software development, program management, and technical support. John was a Senior Engineer and Member of Technical Staff at OPTIMIZATION TECHNOLOGY INC, where they provided technical expertise and program management support for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Joint Program Office. Burleson also worked at General Atomics where they served as a Program Manager. Their duties included resource coordination with functional management, stakeholder management, communication management, budget, schedule, and risk management. Before that, they were a Lecturer of Computer Science at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where they lectured for a decade. Burleson is also a former Principal Software Engineer and Lead Systems Analyst and Architect at McDonnell Douglas/The Boeing Company. John worked primarily on designing and implementing a secure Systems Simulation Center. Burleson's work experience covers a period of almost four decades, in which they have held senior management positions in various companies such as Bailey Consulting Services, OPTIMIZATION TECHNOLOGY INC, McDonnell Douglas/The Boeing Company, Advanced Research Center, Zaiaz Communications, and Sperry Systems Management.

John Burleson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1986. John later received a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the same university in 1999. In addition to their formal education, John has obtained several certifications including Federal Contract Management Essentials and Project Management from The University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Professional and Continuing Studies, and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
