Bailow Architects is a full-service architecture and community consulting firm specializing in custom residential homes, renovations, and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) rooted in the New England vernacular tradition. Led by Principal Christopher Bailow, we combine thoughtful design with policy expertise to help homeowners and municipalities navigate Massachusetts’ evolving housing landscape, including Chapter 150’s by-right ADU legislation.

Our services span ADU bylaw review and optimization, contextual design guidelines, aging-in-place planning and universal design integration, interactive feasibility and cost tools, and alignment with state and federal grant programs (e.g., Housing Choice, ADU Accelerator). We partner with towns to craft inclusive housing strategies, prepare grant applications, and educate residents through public workshops and virtual seminars.

For homeowners, we offer custom ADU design and zoning navigation, aging-in-place expertise, smart home and flexible multigenerational planning, feasibility studies, and full design-to-permit services. Our practice blends rigorous design, deep community engagement, and strategic consulting to foster housing diversity and sustainable community growth.
