Dr. Bernhard Bauer

Dr. Bernhard Bauer is a seasoned consultant and educator specializing in tourism, sustainability, and cultural heritage. Currently collaborating with Bain & Company and serving as an external adviser to the OECD Tourism Unit, they actively contribute to numerous projects across various countries. Dr. Bauer has taught tourism management courses at SRH School of Management in Dresden since 2021 and has extensive experience in tourism strategy and project management, with a focus on Small Island Developing States. They obtained a PhD in cultural anthropology from the University of Vienna in 2014 and have led significant initiatives, including recovery tourism projects in the Maldives and culinary tourism development in Saudi Arabia.
