Peter Chan

Peter Chan is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in securities law and financial regulatory matters. Currently a Partner at Baker McKenzie since October 2019, Peter assists financial firms and multinational corporations in addressing enforcement and regulatory issues from the SEC and other financial regulators, while also serving as fiduciary counsel to major pension funds. Peter has held significant roles as a Trustee of the SEC Historical Society since January 2021 and was a Partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP from 2014 to 2019, representing clients in high-stakes SEC and DOJ investigations. Previously, Peter served as Assistant Regional Director at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1995 to 2014, where recognition included the SEC's Paul R. Carey Award. Peter's career began with an internship in the U.S. Senate, following a law degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
