Tayan Patel

Tayan Patel is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property, particularly in patent law. Currently serving as Partner and Co-Head of the Patent Legal Department at BakerHostetler since June 2013, Tayan specializes in IP and technology transactions, global patent procurement, risk management, and enforcement. Previously, Tayan worked as an Associate Attorney at Dentons and Smith Gambrell Russell LLP, focusing on patent development, enforcement, and litigation. Tayan began the career as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO, concentrating on semiconductors and optical communications. Tayan holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Rutgers Law School, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
