Nicholas Baes

Nicholas Baes has gained extensive experience in software engineering and leadership roles within various companies. Nicholas is currently the Head of Software Engineering - Crypto at Bakkt since April 2023. Previously, they served as the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering at Apex Crypto LLC from October 2020 to April 2023. Before that, they worked as a Vice President of Engineering at PEAK6 Investments from July 2019 to September 2020. Nicholas also held the position of Director of Technology at Intercontinental Exchange from May 2010 to July 2019. Nicholas started their career as a Senior Software Developer at PEAK6 from December 2007 to May 2010. Additionally, Nicholas had roles such as Managing Director at Baes Consulting Inc., Software Architect at J.P. Morgan, Consultant at Northern Trust Corporation, and Sr Software Engineer at J.P. Morgan, all contributing to their well-rounded expertise in the field.

Nicholas Baes attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2001. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
