Maximos Iakovlev is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in portfolio management and commodity trading. Currently serving as a Portfolio Manager at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since August 2020, Iakovlev previously held the position of Managing Partner and Derivatives Trader at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. from 2015 to August 2020. Prior to that, Iakovlev was a Managing Director in Commodity Trading at Goldman Sachs from February 2007 to May 2015. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Yale University, obtained from 2001 to 2005, and a formative education at Harrow School between 1996 and 2001.
