Simon Johnson

Simon Johnson is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Head of EquityArb and Systematic Risk and Macro Risk Manager at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since November 2017. Prior to this role, Simon held the position of Managing Director of Risk Management at Pine River Capital Management from January 2014 to October 2017, after being a Director there for three years. Simon's earlier experience includes serving as Managing Director at Lehman Brothers during its administration from November 2009 to December 2013, co-heading interest rate and credit financial engineering at Commerzbank from December 2003 to November 2009, and roles as a Senior Quant at NumeriX software and a Quantitative Analyst at Reech Capital. The professional journey began at The Technology Partnership plc as a Consultant from 1996 to 2001, following an education at the University of Cambridge from 1990 to 1996.
