Jai Thomas

Jai Thomas has a diverse work experience in data science and analytics. They started their career at Caterpillar Inc. in 2008 as an Engineer, where they were responsible for implementing algorithms to analyze engine data for compliance to EPA regulations and developing proprietary data analysis software. In 2012, they became a Senior Engineer and continued their work in algorithm development and data visualization. They eventually became a Senior Analytics Project Leader in 2015.

In 2016, Jai joined Walgreens Boots Alliance as a Business Process Manager focusing on analytics. They then transitioned to the role of Senior Data Scientist before becoming an Analytics Manager in 2018. They remained in this position until 2022.

Currently, Jai is working at Banfield Pet Hospital as a Senior Manager in Data Science, and starting in April 2023, they will take on the role of Lead Data Scientist.

Jai Thomas obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University in the years 1989 to 1993. Jai then pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at Western Michigan University from 2001 to 2004. Later, they completed their doctoral studies at Western Michigan University, earning a PhD in Industrial Engineering from 2004 to 2010.
