Stephen O'Rourke

Stephen O'Rourke is currently the Tech Lead at Banked, a global payments network, focusing on enhancing payment experiences for consumers, businesses, and banks. Prior to this role, Stephen held multiple positions at Tyro Payments from 2011 to 2023, including Technical Lead in Payments and Banking, as well as Software Team Lead and Software Engineer. Earlier experience includes a Software Engineer role at the University of Sydney, where development of e-learning applications took place, along with responsibilities as a Research/Teaching Assistant. Furthermore, Stephen's career began with internships at Intelligent Energy Systems, United Group, Alstom Transport, and Alstom Power. Stephen holds a Master of Philosophy in Software Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Sydney.
