Tom James

Tom James currently serves as Sales Director at BAR Technologies, beginning in January 2024, contributing to efforts in the decarbonisation of global shipping. Previously, Tom held multiple positions at Hexcel Corporation from January 2016 to October 2023, including Marine Business Development Manager and Senior Product Manager. Prior experience includes roles as Director at Smart Material Applications Ltd and Director of Innovation at Formax UK Ltd. Tom's technical background encompasses engineering positions at Americas Cup Team Shosholoza, High Modulus, and MARTEN MARINE INDUSTRIES LIMITED, as well as a stint as a Naval Architect at GL Noble Denton. Tom earned a degree in Naval Architecture from Newcastle University, attending from 1992 to 1996, and completed schooling at Churchill Comprehensive School.
