James Johnson

James Johnson is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investor relations and corporate finance. Since joining Barclays Bank in September 2009 as Director of Investor Relations, James has played a pivotal role in enhancing the Group's relationships with capital markets, earning recognition as the 6th Best IR Professional for UK companies in the 2012 Extel Survey. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Corporate Finance and Financial Markets at Thomson SA, where responsibilities included investor relations, fundraising, strategy, and budget reviews, as well as chairing the Disclosure Committee. James also held the position of Executive Director at UBS, focusing on advisory work related to equity raising, IPOs, and M&A, and worked as a Director at SG Warburg and a Manager at Grant Thornton. Academically, James holds a B Sc (Econ) in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, complemented by foundational education at Highgate School.
