Mark Thain

Mark Thain is the Head of Citizenship, Americas at Barclays, where they lead the social innovation team and oversee a portfolio of internal investments. They founded the Barclays Social Innovation Facility to develop commercial solutions for social and environmental challenges. Mark transitioned from a professional accountant to an intrapreneur, gaining extensive project finance experience before joining Barclays’ Community Investment team in 2009. They hold a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from The University of Kent and are a Chartered Management Accountant. Currently, Mark is pursuing executive education in Creating Shared Value at Harvard Business School.
