John Phillips

John Phillips is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the real estate sector. Currently serving as Managing Director, Associate General Counsel, and Head of Legal for Real Estate at Barings since January 2017, John has previously held positions such as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers LLC and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. John began the legal career at Day, Berry & Howard LLP and Dechert LLP after clerking for Justice Robert I. Berdon at the Connecticut Supreme Court. Educational background includes an MBA from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, complemented by a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Rhode Island.
