Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh has extensive work experience in the legal field. Michael started their career as an Associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in 2008 and then worked at Dechert LLP as an Associate from 2013 to 2017.

In 2017, they joined Barings as a Director & Assistant General Counsel, where they served until 2019. During this time, they became the U.S. High Yield Team Leader. From 2019 to 2020, Michael held the role of Director & Assistant General Counsel at Barings.

In 2020, they became the Director & Associate General Counsel, Head of U.S. Markets Legal at Barings, leading a team of lawyers and paralegals supporting the U.S. investment teams. Michael then served as the Director & Associate General Counsel, Global Head of Public Fixed Income Legal from 2020 to 2021.

Currently, Michael Walsh holds the position of Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, Global Head of Public Assets Legal, reporting directly to the Global Chief Legal Officer at Barings. In this role, they work closely with senior business leaders, provides solutions-oriented advice to clients, and manages a team of legal professionals.

Michael Walsh attended Wake Forest University from 2001 to 2005 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics. Michael then attended Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law.
