Barn i hjärtat is an independent, non-profit organization driven by passionate current or former employees at Scania – but not affiliated with the company. Our mission is to make a meaningful, lasting difference in the lives of children around the world, focusing on their education, health, and development.

Since our founding in 1960, we’ve supported projects across continents – from local initiatives in Sweden to impactful programs in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. What unites them all is a commitment to strengthening both the hearts and minds of children in vulnerable situations.

We believe in personal engagement, transparency, and long-term impact. Every project we support is carefully reviewed to ensure that the help truly reaches those who need it most – often through grassroots efforts and trusted local partners.

Our members – all current or former Scania employees – contribute their time, energy, and resources to create a better future for children.

We act locally and globally – with heart, with purpose, and with children at the center.
