Jacob Harris

Jacob Harris is the current Chief Product Officer at Barn Owl Tech. Prior to this, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Sports Virtual Training Systems from June 2020 to January 2022. In this role, they led the organization's cutting-edge Unreal-based VR Platform for both the training and entertainment business verticals. Jacob also managed technical integration with subject matter experts for product direction and oversaw the animation studio Mad Marker Studios for in-house and professional services for other game development studios.

In their previous role, Jacob was responsible for overseeing technical support for the execution of the Sports VTS platform, leading on and offshore development activities, and overseeing architecture for all aspects of software development. Jacob also presented detailed reports on the company’s technology status, goals, and progress towards defined goals. Furthermore, they proactively developed and implemented innovative technology-related strategies for long-term growth with 3rd party vendors.

At Barn Owl Tech, Jacob is responsible for aligning the organization’s technology resources with the organization’s short and long-term goals. Jacob also serves as a valued member of the executive committee working to align technology goals to other departmental and organizational objectives. Additionally, they manage Data Science-related initiatives for the delivery of cloud-based analytics and identifies what technologies can be used to improve the company’s products and services.

Jacob Harris has a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of South Alabama and is certified from SAFe in SAFe 4.0 Advanced Scrum Master.

They work with Josh Naehr - Marketing Manager, Greg Nallie - Project Manager, and John Gaebler - Data Analyst. and Richard Mandeville - HW Engineering Product Manager reports to Jacob Harris. Their manager is Josh Phifer, Founder & CEO.
