Gerard Verhoef

Gerard Verhoef is an IP and Technology Attorney at Barnard Incorporated in Pretoria, specializing in Intellectual Property Valuation and commercialization. With a rich background in engineering, Gerard has over two decades of experience in technology transfer, having previously served as Director of Technology Transfer at both Stellenbosch University and the University of the Free State. Gerard holds a PhD in Indigenous Knowledge Law and is currently pursuing an LLM while also working towards an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a research associate at the University of Pretoria, Gerard is driven by a passion for transforming innovative research into successful entrepreneurial ventures.
