Michael Barr has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Michael started their career as the Editor-in-Chief at Embedded Systems Programming in 1999 and held this position until 2004. In 1999, they also became the President of Netrino, where they led a team of engineers in embedded software development and real-time system design until 2014.
Additionally, in 2000, Michael Barr began working as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, where they taught until 2002. Michael then served as an Advisor at Zeidman Technologies from 2002 to 2006 and at Quantum Leaps in 2006.
From 2012, Michael Barr worked at Barr Group - Software Experts, a company where they held the role of CTO and Software Expert Witness. In this position, they provided consulting and testified as an expert witness regarding complex electronics and software issues in court cases.
In 2013, Michael Barr founded Vozelo Society and served as its President. Furthermore, they joined the Entrepreneurs' Organization in 2019, where they became a member and Finance Chair.

Michael Barr began their education at Calvert Hall College High School, where they attended from 1985 to 1989. Following their high school education, they enrolled at the University of Maryland, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1989 to 1994. After completing their undergraduate studies, Michael continued their education at the same university, earning a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1994 to 1997. Later, in 2005 to 2006, they attended the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
