Marcelo Alvarez

Marcelo Alvarez serves as the Executive Director of Government Affairs for South America at Barrick Gold Corporation, a role held since October 2018, where Marcelo also holds positions as Executive Director for Argentina and Chile and Executive Director of Argentina. Prior to this, Marcelo Alvarez was President of CAEM from December 2015 to September 2019 and held multiple roles at Goldcorp, including Country Manager. Additionally, Marcelo Alvarez served as Director of Corporate Affairs for SABMiller and Chief of Mission for the Organization of American States, focusing on peace processes in Colombia. Marcelo Alvarez's academic qualifications include an Executive course on oil, gas, and mining governance from the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, an MBA from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, a Master in Management from the Graduate School of Business Administration Zurich, and a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires.
