Mathieu Ageneau

Mathieu Ageneau is an experienced geologist with a strong background in exploration management, particularly in orogenic gold. Currently serving as the KSA Exploration Manager at Barrick Mining Corporation since December 2025, Mathieu Ageneau previously held the position of Regional Exploration Manager at Resolute Mining Limited from April 2020 to November 2025, significantly contributing to discoveries such as the Tombo and Mansala deposits in Senegal and Guinea. Prior roles include Exploration Manager at Tietto Minerals Ltd, where a major resource increase occurred at the Abujar deposit, and West Africa Senior Exploration Geologist at Newcrest Mining, leading to the discovery of the Seguela deposit in Côte d’Ivoire. Mathieu Ageneau's educational background includes a PhD in Geochemistry and Ore Deposits from the University of Tasmania, and a Master’s degree from the University of Geneva, alongside a Bachelor's degree from the University of Montpellier.
