Robert Thomson

CEO, News Corp at Barron's

Robert Thomson is the current CEO of News Corp at Barron's. Robert was previously the editor of The Times from January 2002 to December 2008, and before that they were a journalist and editor for the Financial Times Group from January 1985 to December 2002. Thomson began their career as a Beijing correspondent, then became the Tokyo correspondent, followed by foreign news editor and eventually the editor of the weekend edition of the Financial Times. In 2008, they were appointed editor of The Times and held that position until December of that year when they joined News Corp.

Robert Thomson has an honorary doctorate from RMIT University in the field of communication, journalism, and related programs. Robert also attended CBC St Kilda for their secondary education and received a higher school certificate.
