Alison Griffiths is a Distinguished Professor at Baruch College, CUNY, and a member of the doctoral faculty in Theater at the CUNY Graduate Center, where they teach film history, visual and media studies, and corporate representation in media. They are an internationally renowned scholar known for their work on early cinema and visual culture, having authored several award-winning books and over 50 journal articles and book chapters. A recipient of prestigious awards such as the Fulbright Distinguished Arctic Scholar Award and a Guggenheim, Griffiths is actively engaged in research on late 19th-century visual culture and media archaeology, with their forthcoming book titled *Nomadic Cinema: A Cultural Geography of the Expedition Film*. Currently, they are working on a new book provisionally titled *New Worlds at the Margins: Travel, Identity, and Vernacular Media*.
