Lead Data Analyst at Base Operations

Will Richmond has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Will started their career as a Lifeguard and Swim Lesson Instructor at Kent Meridian Pool from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they founded their own business called Will's Waxing Empire, a seasonal waxing enterprise for skiers and snowboarders.

In 2012, Will worked as a Marketing Intern for Line Skis & Full Tilt Boots, where they managed social media, created online content, and assisted with promotional activities. Will also gained experience in website management and product shipping. Additionally, they served as a Social Media Assistant at Reber Ranch during the same year, expanding the brand's online presence and organizing marketing contests.

From 2013 to 2015, Will worked as an Economic Research Assistant at Colorado College, where they analyzed employment data and transcribed records for labor research. Will then became a Communications Intern II- Web & New Media at the same institution, enhancing the college website through Google Analytics projects and conducting outreach effectiveness analyses.

In 2016, Will joined AmeriCorps as a City Year Member, dedicating intensive service towards improving attendance, math and literacy performance, and decreasing behavioral issues at Valverde Elementary School. Will accelerated student proficiency through small group interventions and formulated intervention curriculum based on student progress data.

From 2017 to 2018, Will worked as a Guest Teacher at the Kent School District, inspiring learning and maintaining classroom safety. In 2018, they became a Channel Listing Intern at Vacasa, coordinating marketing channels for property management companies.

Will continued their journey at Vacasa and held various roles from 2018 to 2023. Will started as a Channel Listing Specialist, generating significant revenue from 3rd party channels. Will then progressed to Junior Marketing Analyst, where they implemented new data tracking procedures and taught SQL curricula. Will eventually became a Marketing Analyst, optimizing revenue and merchandising analytics through experimentation. Will contributed to the optimization of Covid Policy messaging and evaluated pricing and cancellation policy experiments. Subsequently, they worked as a Data Scientist and Data Scientist II, building churn models, optimizing rates and revenue, and envisioning static prediction models. Will presented guest lectures and assisted in auditing key data. Will is currently working as a Data Analyst at Base Operations.

Overall, Will Richmond has gained valuable experience in data analysis, marketing, education, research, and entrepreneurship throughout their career.

Will Richmond completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematical Economics from Colorado College, attending from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Kentwood High School from 2007 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Will has obtained several certifications. In May 2021, they completed the "Introduction to Data Science in Python" course offered by the University of Michigan through Coursera. In February 2019, they obtained the "Level 2 Avalanche Course: Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain" certification from the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE). In April 2016, they also obtained the "Level 1" certification from AIARE. Will holds an Emergency Teacher Certificate obtained from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in September 2015. Will also obtained the "Level 1" certification from PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors in December 2015. Lastly, they acquired the Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS - National Outdoor Leadership School in January 2015.
