Joonas Sainio

Joonas Sainio's work experience starts in 2010 as a car mechanic and electrician at Volkswagen Center Helsinki. In 2011, they worked in the same role at Volkswage Center Helsinki. In 2012, they completed an internship at Porsche Engineering Services GmbH, followed by an assistant lecturer position at Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu - Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

In 2013, Joonas joined the ERA (Electric Raceabout) project as an electrical engineer, where they contributed to the development of Finnish electric sports cars and achieved records in lap times and speed. Joonas continued their education in 2014 by working on their Master's thesis and as a part-time worker at ABB Oy, focusing on active backlash compensation in electric vehicle powertrain and software testing.

In 2016, Joonas worked at SR Automotive Oy as an Electric Vehicle Systems Engineer, implementing electric powertrain systems for a high-performance electric supercar. Joonas then moved on to Porsche Engineering Services GmbH in 2017, where they held multiple roles, including Technical Project Lead and Development Engineer. Joonas was responsible for engineering tasks, system development, and requirements engineering for electric drives and chassis system development.

Most recently, in 2022, Joonas joined Basemark as the Head Of Services, overseeing the company's service operations.

Throughout their career, Joonas has demonstrated expertise in electric vehicle systems, powertrain control, and engineering development.

From 2022 to 2022, Joonas attended IMD and successfully completed the Future Leaders Program, which encompassed studies in leadership, strategy, marketing, and finance.

Prior to that, Joonas pursued their Master's degree in Control Engineering at Aalto University from 2013 to 2016.

Additionally, during the same period from 2013 to 2016, Joonas also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
