Annika Batel

Annika Batel is a Senior Product Stewardship and Regulatory Manager specializing in the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. They have a diverse background in aquatic ecotoxicology, having served as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Center for Organismal Studies at Universität Heidelberg, where they analyzed the impact of microplastics in aquatic food chains. From 2020 to 2022, they worked at BASF as a Product Stewardship and Regulatory Sustainability Manager, focusing on the compliance and mitigation strategies related to aroma ingredients. Annika also held roles as a Laboratory Lead and Regulatory Ecotoxicologist, contributing to marine invertebrate studies and the registration of Plant Protection Products. They earned their PhD in Biology from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and previously completed their MSc in Biology at Technische Universität München.
