Brent Murphy

Brent Murphy is a Senior Specialist in Digitalization - Bioinformatics. They have extensive experience in research, including roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on the genomics of adaptation in plant species and genetic mapping of herbicide resistance. Brent has also worked as an Agronomy Specialist, contributing to agricultural field trials, and has held various undergraduate research positions in plant biotechnology and weed management. Currently, they are engaged in bioinformatics postdoc work at BASF, specializing in structural variation characterization in complex genomes. Brent earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s in Weed Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
