Carl (Shane) Thornton has extensive experience in instrumentation, electrical supervision, and safety compliance. Currently serving as an Instrument/Electrical Supervisor at BASF since 2008, Carl manages I&E technicians across multiple business units while overseeing budgetary and cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, Carl is a site technical resource in various systems and specifications for electrical components. Previously, at Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Carl held roles as a Safety Coordinator and EH&S Compliance Consultant, where responsibilities included developing safety programs, managing compliance with OSHA regulations, and creating training initiatives. Carl also serves as a Deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office since 2009. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Alabama and certification as an EMT Paramedic.
