Elodie Rey

Plant geneticist

Elodie Rey is a highly experienced plant geneticist specializing in crop improvement and global food security, currently working at BASF. Rey served as a post-doctoral fellow on quinoa genomics at The Salt Lab - KAUST from October 2017 to November 2022, focusing on enhancing the domestication and breeding of crops for resilience to adverse environmental conditions. Following this role, Rey managed the CDA neodomestication project at the KAUST Center for Desert Agriculture from October 2022 to September 2024. Rey holds a Master's degree in Plant Biotechnologies from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci, along with a Licence in Life Science and Health from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III.
