Frederic Viaene

Frederic Viaene possesses extensive experience in energy and utility management, having served as Head of Utility Management at BASF from December 2010 to March 2019, where responsibility included managing a team of 16 energy specialists and overseeing market processes for power and natural gas. As Project Lead for the Antwerp 4.0 project, Frederic developed a strategy for Verbund digitalisation, integrating various planning processes to enhance optimization. Additionally, Frederic led strategy and negotiations for the Zandvliet Power joint venture with Engie. Prior to BASF, experience includes a role as Business Analyst at Arthur D. Little focusing on business process re-engineering and asset strategy, followed by General Manager at Oostrowood Impex, overseeing the management and sale of manufacturing operations. Frederic holds a Master's degree in Handelsingenieur from the University of Antwerp and completed KMO Management at Vlerick Business School.
