Gary Deeter is an accomplished polymer chemist with extensive experience in research and development. From 1994 to 1996, Gary worked as a Research Scientist at AkzoNobel, focusing on styrene, acrylic dispersions, and epoxy-PUR hybrid coating systems. Following this, Gary held various positions at BASF, including Senior Research Associate from 2006 to June 2019, where Gary specialized in aqueous polymer colloids for coating materials and systems, and currently serves as Principal Scientist since May 2018. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Morton International from 1996 to 1998, concentrating on emulsion polymerization for the graphic arts industry, and as a Senior Research Scientist at SC Johnson Polymer from 1998 to 2006, conducting research in high temperature free radical and emulsion polymerization for coatings and packaging materials. Gary holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Chemistry from Augustana College.
