Gerhard Merkle (PhD) is currently the Director of Application Technology Home Care and I&I Solutions at BASF SE. Previously, Gerhard held various positions at Ciba, including Laboratory Manager for Technical Service Detergents, and was instrumental in global technical service for Home and Fabric Care. In addition, Gerhard served as a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and at the University of Waterloo, where they focused on polymers. Gerhard's extensive experience in account management and quality assurance spans multiple companies, including Degussa Huls. Gerhard is pursuing a Diploma in Chemistry and a Ph.D. at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau.
