Hergen Schultze

Hergen Schultze possesses extensive experience in data analytics and science, having held key leadership roles at BASF from September 2017 to May 2022, including Head of Data Analytics, Head of Data Science for Materials, and Head of Statistics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. In these roles, Hergen led teams focused on advanced materials research, data management, and digital product development across North America and Europe. Prior to BASF, Hergen was a PhD student at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, specializing in complex biomembranes, and also founded FORUMnovum Software-Entwicklung GbR, developing communication and knowledge-management software for scientific applications. Hergen holds a PhD in Physics and a Diplom in Physics from the University of Göttingen, as well as a Vordiplom in Physics from Leibniz Universität Hannover.
