Holger Penning

Head of Permit Management Water-, Waste and Building Law, Data Management and Digitization

Holger Penning has extensive experience in environmental permitting and regulatory affairs, particularly in the agricultural sector, having worked at BASF from 2013 to 2017 in various leadership roles, including Global Regulatory Manager for fungicides and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs for insecticides. Prior to BASF, Holger was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Helmholtz Zentrum München, focusing on the stable isotope fractionation of pesticides. Holger earned a PhD in Microbiology from the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology and holds a Diploma in Geology/Paleontology from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, complemented by academic experience at The University of Georgia.
