Jan Knol

Jan Knol has a diverse background in the field of molecular biology and intellectual property, culminating in significant roles at various organizations. Experience includes a trainee position at The Netherlands Commission on Genetic Modification, followed by roles as a Plant Variety Protection and Registration Officer at Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds and currently as a Plant Variety Protection Officer at BASF. Previously, Jan served as a Patent Scientist at Monsanto Company, focusing on patent filing and compliance processes. Academic achievements include a Master's degree in Molecular Biology and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbial Physiology from the University of Groningen, as well as a Master's degree in Law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Research during the PhD program concentrated on cholesterol degradation enzymes in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
