Jens Weiguny

Jens Weiguny is a Director of Research & Development with extensive experience in the chemical industry. They began their career with Bundeswehr in 1984 as a Fernmelder, followed by significant roles at BASF from 2006 to 2020, where they served as Senior Technology Manager, Lab Team Leader, Deputy Plant Manager, and ultimately, Director of R&D focusing on the butanediol value chain and acetylene chemistry. Jens was also involved in the detailed engineering and construction of a tetrahydrofuran plant in China and has held leadership positions in catalysis research at Hoechst AG. Jens holds a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Universität Münster, and continues their education at Los Alamos High School and Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg.
