Marco Altmayer is currently the Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Business Development for Petrochemicals at BASF. They began their career as a Management Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group from 2004 to 2007. After joining BASF in 2008, Marco held various key roles including Head of Global Integration Program Management and Regional Business Manager for BASF Mining Solutions in Asia Pacific, before progressing to Vice President positions in business management across multiple chemical sectors. Marco obtained a Master’s degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from Heidelberg University, where they studied from 1992 to 2000.
