Marco Mammella

Head of breeding support EMEA South/Principal scientist

Marco Mammella is currently the Head of Breeding Support EMEA South and a Principal Scientist in Phytopathology at BASF. They previously served as a Scientist in Plant Pathology at Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds from 2011 to 2018 and gained research experience as a Visiting Research Student at USDA-ARS from 2009 to 2010. Marco completed a PhD in Phytosanitary Management at Università degli studi di Palermo, focusing on genetic variability in Phytophthora nicotianae, and holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Bari. Their expertise encompasses microbiology, molecular biology, and the study of plant protection.
