Martin Weisel

Principal Scientist, Computational Chemistry

Martin Weisel is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in computational chemistry and cheminformatics. From August 2010 to October 2012, Martin worked as a Scientist at Roche Pharmaceuticals, focusing on structure-based drug design, data mining, and software development. Prior to that, Martin was a Postdoctoral researcher specializing in mining protein-ligand interactions. Martin began the career as a PhD candidate at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, concentrating on software development, binding site prediction, and druggability assessment. The academic journey includes serving as a Research Fellow at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt a. Main, where Martin engaged in cheminformatics, machine learning, and teaching. Most recently, Martin held various roles at BASF, including Global Scientific Discipline Lead in Drug Discovery and Principal Scientist, where responsibilities involved molecular modeling, lead optimization, and project management. Martin holds a Diploma and a PhD in Bioinformatics from Goethe University Frankfurt.
