Richard Johnson

Richard Johnson, PhD, is an experienced agronomist and plant breeding professional currently serving as SSO Agronomy Manager at BASF since January 2021, where key support is provided to Seed Science Operations teams in the Northern US for canola research. Previously, Richard held multiple positions, including Breeding Agronomist and Site Lead, Product Placement Scientist for corn at Syngenta, and Trait Conversion Manager at AgReliant Genetics, among others. Academic credentials include a PhD in Plant Breeding from the University of Tennessee, alongside a Master's degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics and a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Breeding, also from the University of Tennessee. Richard's extensive experience spans roles in research operations, data management, and field breeding across various agricultural companies, as well as several academic institutions.
