Stefan John

Stefan John is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law and governance. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions, as well as General Counsel and CCO for BASF Corporation, Stefan leads the global legal function for BASF. Prior positions include Executive Board Member at Dyckerhoff AG, overseeing corporate legal, HR, and compliance matters, and General Counsel at GE Transportation, where responsibilities included integration planning for international operations. Early career experiences include roles at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, Stinnes AG, and Treuhandanstalt Berlin, establishing a solid foundation in international shipping, investment projects, and privatization processes. Stefan holds legal degrees from Berlin and a doctorate in law from Dresden, along with completing an Advanced Management Course at the Jack Welch Leadership Centre in the USA.
