Stephan Ballenweg is currently the Head of Knowledge Systems specializing in Digitalization in R&D at BASF, where they have also served as the Head of Business Information and Head of Information Methods since 2012. Prior to their tenure at BASF, Stephan was the Managing Editor for the RÖMPP chemical encyclopedia and an Editor for Natural Sciences at Bibliographisches Institut. They earned a Doctor of Natural Sciences degree in Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg between 1985 and 1996.
