Sven Gruetzmann

Sven Gruetzmann has extensive experience in engineering and maintenance, currently serving as Head of Engineering and Maintenance at BASF since April 2008. In this role, Sven oversees engineering, maintenance, and key technical support services, while also being a member of the Site Leadership Team. Previous positions at BASF include Senior Construction Manager and EPC Contracting & Engineering Partner Management, where Sven designed and negotiated significant EPC contracts and led the development of global construction contracts. Additional expertise includes managing subprojects related to a EUR 1bn+ business strategy and establishing innovation programs in advanced automation and reliability management. Sven began their career as a Research Assistant at Technische Universität Hamburg and completed a visiting Ph.D. position at Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet. Sven holds a Dipl.-Ing. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dortmund.
