Tom Catternan

Tom Catternan is a pragmatic leader with extensive international experience in operational and technical management roles. Currently serving as the Director of Technical Services at BASF SE, Tom leverages an analytical mindset focused on operational excellence. Previously, they held various senior management positions within BASF, including roles in asset management and turnaround management. Tom began their professional journey with DEME Group as a Technical Superintendent, overseeing maintenance and major repairs of dredger vessels across global projects. Tom holds a Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering as well as a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both earned with the greatest distinction from Ghent University and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
