Joey Stephens has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Their most recent role was as a DevOps Solution Specialist at Basis Technologies, where they helped SAP customers improve their change and release strategies through automation and better testing coverage. In this role, Joey was responsible for systems analysis, technical installations, solution configurations, and user training for customer projects implementing the Basis Technologies suite.
Prior to their time at Basis Technologies, Joey worked at Ciber, starting as a Senior SAP Basis Consultant in 2008 and progressing to become a SAP Technical Solutions Leader/Practice Manager in 2013. During their tenure at Ciber, they played a crucial role in managing SAP technical solutions and leading practice teams.
Before joining Ciber, Joey worked at Justin Brands, Inc. as a BASIS Admin./Senior DBA, overseeing multiple SAP instances and systems for one of the largest footwear manufacturing companies in North America. Joey successfully managed the company's SAP environment built on Oracle and later migrated to SQL Server.
Joey's career began at TEKsystems as a Consultant, where they provided hardware and software support, system integration, application support, and end-user training. Joey worked on projects for Justin Brands, assisting in the migration to a SAP AFS system from an IBM Mainframe environment. Joey also worked as a Consultant for Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson, supporting their upgrade to MS Windows NT and MS Office 97.
In addition to their professional experience, Joey has also worked as an Independent Consultant and Service Provider. Joey built, maintained, and upgraded servers, workstations, and personal computers for home users and small businesses in the San Angelo area. Joey also provided training to new users on how to operate and maintain systems.
Joey began their career as a Technician at CalTech Software Systems, where they worked from 1992 to 1996.
Joey Stephens completed an Associates degree in Sciences at North Central Texas College from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1996, they attended Angelo State University where they pursued General Studies but did not obtain a degree. In addition to their formal education, Joey obtained a certification in Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in January 2023.
