Bastian Accounting is a remote accounting firm serving U.S.-based photographers with bookkeeping, tax, sales tax, payroll, and financial strategy support.

We do more than keep the books clean and file tax returns. We help photographers use accurate, compliant bookkeeping as the foundation for better decisions all year long. When you know where your business stands, where you want to go, and what the numbers are saying, it becomes much easier to build a plan to get there.

Our work starts with strong bookkeeping because that is the tool that makes everything else possible. Clean financials create the visibility needed to set goals, plan for taxes, improve cash flow, measure profit, and make strategic decisions with confidence. Tax preparation is an important piece of the work, but it is not the whole story. What makes our approach different is everything that happens between the bookkeeping and the tax return.

We help photographers strategize year-round to keep more of what they make, stay compliant, and grow with intention. That includes using financial reports to guide decisions, planning ahead instead of reacting late, and creating a clearer path forward based on real numbers.

Our services include monthly bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax planning, tax preparation, estimated tax payment support, sales tax compliance, payroll, S-Corp support, contractor compliance, and business formations. We combine specialized industry knowledge with an approachable, relationship-driven experience so our clients feel supported, informed, and confident in their finances.

Bookkeeping is not the end goal — it is the foundation. Taxes are not the only outcome — they are one result of having accurate financials. What makes our work different is how we use the numbers in between to help photographers set goals, make smarter decisions, increase profitability, and create a business that supports the life they want.
