Matt Lees

Matt Lees is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and technology. Currently serving as the VP Security (CISO) at Basware since September 2007, Matt oversees the security team and is responsible for the security roadmap, compliance, advisory, security testing, monitoring, incident management, and DevSecOps. Prior to this role, Matt held several leadership positions at Basware, including Director of Platform Product Management and Director of SaaS, driving product strategy and the transition to Software as a Service. Matt also served as UK Managing Director, managing operations and P&L for the UK subsidiary. Previous experience includes leading a data capture business unit at Basware and serving as Consulting Manager at Digital Vision Technologies Limited. Matt was a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Imperial College, University of London. Matt holds a PhD in Engineering from Lancaster University, an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and completed a program at Henley Business School in 2021.
