Qing Gu has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Qing began their career at Beijing Radio Station as a part-time radio program producer before moving on to China Central Television as a TV program director and editor. Qing then transitioned to Nokia Mobile Phones as a localization engineer, where they planned translation schedules and ensured clear communication of application functions to end-users. At Nokia, they worked as an interaction designer and later as a senior interaction designer/user experience designer, collaborating with teams to provide detailed design solutions and UI specifications. Qing then joined Deltabit Oy as a freelance user experience designer, redesigning an enterprise access control system. Qing later worked at Travelport Hotelzon as a functional designer, designing B2B online hotel booking and travel management systems. Qing then joined Frantic as a senior UX designer, working on Finnair projects and collaborating with stakeholders and design teams. In their most recent role, Qing worked at Cargotec as a senior user experience designer, leading UX design projects for Kalmar and MacGregor and participating in an EU collaboration project. Qing focused on layout design, UI design concepts, data utilization, and user needs understanding. Qing currently works as a lead UX designer at Basware.

Qing Gu holds a Master's degree in Interactive Technology from the University of Tampere (2002-2006). They also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music composition from China Conservatory of Music (1992-1997). Additionally, Qing Gu has a Certificate in Mass Communication (Journalist) and Media journalist from Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, although the specific years of attendance are unknown.
